He didn't win the money race, but Donald Trump will be the next president of the U.S. In the primaries and general election, he defied conventional wisdom, besting better financed candidates by dominating the air waves for free. Trump also put to use his own cash, as well as the assets and infrastructure of his businesses, in unprecedented fashion. He donated $66 million of his own money, flew across the country in his private jet, and used his resorts to stage campaign events. At the same time, the billionaire was able to draw about $280 million from small donors giving $200 or less. Super-PACs, which can take contributions unlimited in size, were similarly skewed toward his opponent, Hillary Clinton. Ultimately, Trump won the presidency despite having raised less than any major party presidential nominee since John McCain in 2008, the last to accept federal funds to pay for his general election contest.
Clinton and her super-PACs raised a total of $1.2 billion, less than President Barack Obama raised in 2012. Her sophisticated fundraising operation included a small army of wealthy donors who wrote seven-figure checks, hundreds of bundlers who raised $100,000 or more from their own networks, and a small-dollar donor operation modeled on the one used by Obama in 2012. She spent heavily on television advertising and her get-out-the-vote operation, but in the end, her fundraising edge wasn't enough to overcome Trump's ability to dominate headlines and the airwaves.
On Dec. 8, campaigns and super-PACs filed their post-election reports on fundraising and spending with the Federal Election Commission from Oct. 20 through Nov. 28. Here's where they stood at the end of the race:

A bill dubbed by critics as the “Pedophile Protection Act” is on the desk of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger after passing both chambers of the California Legislature.

                Authored by lesbian state Sen. Sheila Kuehl, the bill drastically reduces requirements for mandatory reporting of the known or suspected sexual, physical and emotional abuse of children.

Richard D. Ackerman, vice-president of legal affairs for the Pro-Family Law Center, and a survivor of severe physical and sexual abuse, calls the bill a “reprehensible act.”
“The one common denominator among civilized persons is the ability to rally around the protection of our children,” he said in a statement. “Even one case of unreported abuse has the potential to begin a generational cycle of continuing abuse, and could even result in the death of a child.”
Ackerman asserts the bill “appears to be the work of abortionists and others who ply in the trade of promoting sex among children.”

Under existing criminal law, anyone who regularly comes into contact with children is required to report an instance in which there is reason to believe a child has been molested or abused, Ackerman points out.
Typical mandatory reporters include pastors, priests, church volunteers, teachers, school volunteers, and medical personnel.
But the bill, SB1313, would eliminate mandatory reporting for anyone who can be characterized as a “volunteer.”
That means a Sunday school teacher, for example, would not be required to report her knowledge of a pastor’s molestation of children.

Critics say the bill also eliminates mandatory reporting in cases where children are having sex with each other, and severe emotional abuse may no longer be a reportable event at all.
Ackerman, while working for the United States Justice Foundation, persuaded the California Attorney General’s office to issue a written opinion to the California Medical Board that affirmed the requirement of reporting for anyone who comes into regular contact with children as part of professional duties.

The report, following a petition by more than 10,000 people, presented evidence that Planned Parenthood had seen over 30,000 children in California, but not one instance of reporting to law enforcement could be found.
State-required demographic data provided by Planned Parenthood to California demonstrated that the volunteers and paid staff of Planned Parenthood had seen children ages 6 and under for sexually transmitted disease treatment.
Ackerman says SB1313 seeks to make unavailable any reports of abuse, even if the reports are redacted.

Ackerman, urging “all persons of good conscience” to write to Gov. Schwarzennegger, said, “If even one child is abused or dies because of the failure to report by a clinic, church or school, that child’s blood is on the hands of Sheila Kuehl and the people who sneaked behind the media”s back to get this sickly legislation passed.”

Eliza Dushku's 'True Lies' co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger ‘shocked’ by claim stuntman molested her on set

Arnold Schwarzenegger said he was "shocked and saddened" for actress Eliza Dushku after she said she was molested by famed stunt coordinator Joel Kramer.

Dushku wrote on Facebook Saturday that, when she was 12 years old, Kramer molested her on the set of the 1994 blockbuster “True Lies.” Schwarzenegger starred in the film and played Dushku's father.

Dushku said Kramer, who was 36 years old at the time, lured her to his hotel room.

"I remember vividly how he methodically drew the shades and turned down the lights; how he cranked up the air-conditioning to what felt like freezing levels, where exactly he placed me on one of the two hotel room beds, what movie he put on the television “Coneheads”;  how he disappeared in the bathroom and emerged, naked, bearing nothing but a small hand towel held flimsy at his mid-section," Dushku said.

Kramer has denied the allegations.

Cameron told reporters Saturday he was proud of Dushku for coming forward.

I think all the women are that are speaking up and calling for a reckoning now. I think this has been endemic throughout human systems, not just Hollywood," Cameron said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Because Hollywood deals with women who are victims 10, 15, 20 years ago who are famous today, so they get to have a louder voice when they come forward. Bravo for them for doing it and I'm glad Eliza did that. It's just heartbreaking that it happened to her.”

Following Dushku’s allegations, two more women have come forward alleging sexual misconduct by Kramer.

Kramer denied one anonymous woman’s claim but admitted he “fooled around” with the other girl who was 16 years old at the time. He denied the claims of intercourse and exposing himself as “outright lies.”
